Bugatti Type 57 Gangloff

The most beautiful car in the world?

A well known European restorer (and old customer) came to QuickSilver Exhaust Systems knowing that we could reproduce an original design exhaust system for his unique Bugatti Type 57 Gangloff which was nearing completion.

The brief was to supply a system as Bugatti would have manufactured it. The client was able to supply detail drawings of his requirement.

These drawings were taken by the QuickSilver engineering team and translated into product designs for manufacture. Fairly straightforward apart from the specification of the material, 2mm to 2.5mm thick (most exhaust systems are 1.2 to 1.5mm). Sourcing the material and then forming it correctly were the challenges.

The finished product, made from annealed T304 stainless steel, weighed in at over 35 kilos but should last until the next ice-age.

Classic Cars magazine featured this gorgeous car in their January 2006 edition.

"Hello Paul,
As promised (already a while ago), here are a couple of photographs of the Bugatti Type 57 Gangloff Coupé which we recreated/restored over the last years. In total more than 5,000 hours of labour! Well described in the Classic Cars magazine of jan. 2006. I hope the pictures are suitable for your new brochure.
All the best,
Bernard
