The Dutch Supercar Challenge (DSC) has been building into one of the world’s most successful race series.
With entries of over 150 cars and of enormous variety, from Mini, Clio and little Lotus (8 cars) to Ferrari (4 cars), Lamborghini (2 cars) , Porsche (23 cars), Corvette, Panoz, Viper – all mixing it.
The prospect of some proper racing in cars that viewers can identify with and aspire to has proven to be extremely popular, with each race given live television coverage in Holland and Belgium, post race coverage throughout Europe plus a review preceding each live Grand Prix in the Netherlands. In the UK they are shown on the MotorsTV channel.
This year the DSC comprises 10 rounds in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany from April to October - sharing the bill with A1 GP at Zandvoort and with the Champcars at Assen.
Van Der Kooi Sportscars, the Dutch Lotus Importer are running 5 x similar, normally aspirated, Lotus Exiges in the 2008 Dutch Supercar Challenge and they feel that the regulations and the reduced weight will be beneficial in this championship.
The team, Momentum Racing, is led by Willem Van Der Kooi, the reigning Lotus Cup Europe champion, so they have plenty of experience.
Colin Chapman said, ‘To go faster add lightness’ and Van Der Kooi Sportcars are taking this to heart. Willem says , ‘providing too much power is not consumed by downforce, we expect to challenging for wins’.
QuickSilver Exhausts are proud, that for the second season, Van Der Kooi Sportscars have chosen our Exhaust Manifolds & Race Catalytic Converters.
