Maserati Gran Turismo S – 2008 on System # MT230S
One of the main features of the GranTurismo S is that it has Maserati’s new ‘MC Shift’ sequential gearbox that enables gearchanges in under 100 ms.
The extra light flywheel and tiny twin-disc clutch permit the astonishingly fast changes in crankshaft speed that are necessary for this system to work effectively.
The driver of the GranTurismo S will appreciate this in the V8 sound created as he accelerates through the gears - instantly changing at 7600 rpm.
And - on the downshifts, the autoblip on each downchange will especially delight the enthusiast.
This car was made for a ‘Sports’ exhaust to enhance this motorsport-derived experience.
The standard exhaust is pretty special but as it still has to meet all modern noise regulation it fails to realise it’s potential.
The QuickSilver Sports exhaust has the volume and variation in pitch to satisfy the most exuberant enthusiast.
